Bill Walton visits Innova to discuss Inspire! and our support of Operation Rebound.   Just after the NCAA final four was decided this past weekend, basketball great, Bill Walton, visited Innova on Monday morning to meet with us to talk about Inspire!, Innova, his career and life, leadership stories about John Wooden, his video with FranklinCovey and the Operation Rebound program which is run by the Challenged Athelete's Foundation (CAF).  Operation Rebound is the premier sports and fitness program for American military personnel, veterans and first responders with permanent physical disabilities.  It provides unparalleled opportunities to pursue active, athletic lifestyles by offering access to funding for equipment and training and competition expenses, Military Medical Center Physical Training (MMCPT) and sports clinics.   We believe there is great synergy between this foundation, Innova's mission for supporting our troops and the Inspire! application. &n... Yesterday, the Inspire! team met with Ken Blanchard and his wife Margie at their headquarters in Escondido, CA.  We presented the Inspire! story from my last blog and demonstrated the app in their conference room.  Both Ken and Margie were very encouraged and are planning to install and use the app right away.  Ken said that he might need to grab one of the new iPads to take advantage of the new retina display as he tracks his personal values and goals in Inspire!  We are planning a follow-up meeting with Ken and Margie to discuss possible integration of Situational Leadership II training modules and/or links within the app as well as other opportunities.  I’ll provide more details soon.

By Chris Wollerman, Innova-Mobile eCEO  I'd like to share a story about how Inspire! has made a huge difference for our organization.  We formed InnovaSystems in 1997 as an agile software development company to support the national security strategy.  After working at several large defense contractors who were failing at their software products, we felt we could offer something unique and innovative.    I nearly quit the business altogether after working on a project in DC which spent over $2B of taxpayer dollars and then got cancelled before it ever made it to production.  Instead of quitting, my wife Lynn and I formed a small company and hired our first 5 people who were passionate about our mission to try a whole new approach.  We worked in some really poor environments such as dusty warehouses and WWII barracks buildings on base but the team didn't care, they loved their jobs supporting the military and contributing som... Inspire! Launch

clock March 20, 2012 04:09 by author Chris Wollerman
by Chris Wollerman, Innova-Mobile eCEO Inspire! has finally launched to the App Store!  I can’t think of a better place to celebrate with the Innova-Mobile team than Park City, Utah.  Not only did we just get over a foot of fresh powder for the team to ski and snowboard in, but this is the place where I drew up the original Inspire! screens on hotel stationary after an inspiring day on the slopes last February (2011).    We started planning the Inspire! app after Steve Jobs presented the original iPad 1.0 in January of 2010.  Over the years, I’ve used a combination of paper planners and mobile devices to stay motivated and organized but never felt that it was totally dialed-in.  I stored my personal mission statement, work contribution statement, values, roles and goals in Microsoft Word and printed them out on occasion to help me re-connect and stay focused on my priorities but reading through the bulleted lis...
